Who Is Meenakshi Seshadri?

Meenakshi Seshadri is a former Indian actress, model, and dancer, who mainly acted in Hindi-language movies and made occasional appearances in Telugu and Tamil films.

Meenakshi is the youngest woman to win Miss India, after she took home the crown in 1981. She was aged 17 at the time.

In 1983, Meenakshi made her cinematic debut, and later rose to prominence as one of Hindi cinema’s top actresses, especially for her beauty, and exceptional dance.

Meenakshi is known for appearing in the films Hero (1983), Aandhi-Toofan (1985), Meri Jung (1985), Swati (1986), Dilwaala (1986), Dacait (1987), Inaam Dus Hazaar (1987), Parivaar (1987), Shahenshah (1988), Mahaadev (1989), and Awaargi (1990).

Others include Jurm (1990), Ghayal (1990), Ghar Ho To Aisa (1990), Damini (1993), Duet (1994) and Ghatak (1996).[3] She received particular critical acclaim for Swati (1986), Dahleez (1986), Satyamev Jayate (1987), Awaargi (1990) and Damini (1993).

She quit acting after the release of her movie Ghatak in order to devote more time to her family.

Her life story became the subject of the documentary Meenakshi Accept Her Wings.
