Penelope, 41, is Eduardo’s eldest daughter from his relationship with Encarna Sanchez. The couple also had a son, singer Eduardo Cruz, and a younger daughter, actress Monica Cruz.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star — who has two kids of her own with husband Javier Bardem — is said to have been very close with her late father, even bringing him to premieres when she was first starting out.

Though notoriously quiet about her personal life, Penelope did offer a small glimpse of her childhood in an interview with Allure in 2013. “There was always music, and everybody was dancing, sometimes naked around the house,” she recalled of growing up in Spain. “Not hippie, but very free.”
