Stained Glass Rainbows are the perfect craft for kids for Spring and St. Patrick’s Day!
St. Patrick’s Day is coming up fast and the boys were reminding me that we hadn’t completed a single craft yet – GASP! I asked them what sounded fun and they both wanted to do something with rainbows…or gold coins. I knew they would enjoy making this fun and easy Stained Glass Rainbow craft so that’s what we did! I love stained glass crafts because I never have to go buy supplies. All you need is colored tissue paper, glue, and waxed paper. Since I am a tissue paper hoarder {don’t throw that away!} I’ve got all kinds of colors just waiting to be used on craft projects like this.
Directions:
Tear up colored tissue paper into small pieces.

Tear off a piece of waxed paper and paint on some white glue. I used Elmer’s School Glue and it works beautifully.
Start placing tissue paper directly onto the glue creating a rainbow. If you’re like Bryce, you don’t play by the rules and put the colors on in the order YOU want. He said this his rainbow was “bu-te-ful” and it is!
Once you have your rainbow complete, you can add clouds if you want.
Finally, tear off another piece of waxed paper and paint on some more glue. Place it on top of your rainbow making sure the entire rainbow is covered with glue and smooth the surface gently.
Let your rainbow dry before cutting out and hanging. I used double-sided tape to hang up our rainbows and they look stunning when the sun is coming through!
